Medical Laboratory Technology is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease through the use of clinical laboratory tests. Laboratory Assistants examine and analyze body fluids, tissues, blood typing, micro-organisms, chemical analyses, cell counts etc. of the human body. They play an important role in collecting the information needed for treating most pathology cases by sampling, testing, analyzing and reporting such investigations.
Prospects:
This course offers challenging career in hospitals, emergency centers, private laboratories, blood donor centers and clinics. Teaching in medical colleges and institutions is also a very good option.
